India Pale Ale
We held off long enough, after being open for a year and a half we Finally brewed the much requested and loved: IPA. This strong beer immediately became part of the permanent line up at CBC. Malty and full of delicious Citra and Mosaic hops, each sip is a hop lovers beer dream!
What more needs be said? Ok, it has a beautiful dark head of caramel color, with an aroma of roasted malt. Lighter in body than one might think. (A big fella, but he is light on his feet.) Malt forward with notes of coffee and chocolate. And don’t forget the Black and Tan, a 50/50 of Stout and Bitter. Try it, you will like it…. Also available with Nitro!
We used a traditional English yeast for this brew (same as the English Pale Ale) to get some more fruity notes from the yeast esters. For this style, we used a lot of hops late in the boil to get more flavour and aroma without the bitterness typically present in traditional IPA's. Mosaic and Azzaca give this beer lots of tropical fruit notes like pineapple and mango.
Revel in the fruity aroma and flavour accompanied by the classic Saison spiciness. We made this light bodied beer with a dry finish to pair exceptionally well with the summer heat and sun. You may note the tones reminiscent of white wine. These are thanks to primary hop from down under, Nelson Sauvin. Known for their strong fruitiness of gooseberries, passion fruit , grapefruit and melon, these hops share all the same descriptors as the Sauvignon Blanc wine they are named after.
A dry hopped American wheat Ale. Delicious tropical fruit notes are balanced by tart wheat focused grain bill. A boozier, hoppier version of our classic Forest Fog.
